Why She Started Lefort Consulting & Lefort Foundation
When I still had my 9 -5, I worked for a consulting firm, I observed that a lot of SMEs, especially medium-sized businesses had the potential to become large companies, but what was lacking was the superpower large companies possess, which is sound financial advisory.
This deficiency was evident in all the businesses as they had good products and were making good returns but didn’t know that they could become bigger than their current state.
This inspired me to delve into financial service consulting to professionally support these businesses by providing sound accounting and financial advisory services to them. Nothing gives me more joy than seeing our clients grow and scale-up.
With regards to our CSR at The Lefort Foundation, I realize that there is a gap between what is being taught in the tertiary institutions and the skill required in the practical world. I made a decision, that when I could, I will do something about it; which I did.
Through this initiative, we have transformed the lives of many finance professionals. They have gotten good jobs, acquired the skills and expertise they need to excel at what they do.
Our aim is to raise world-class finance professionals because our competition is no longer local, but global, due to the advent of the internet. I can hire an accountant in the UK if I cannot find a competent one here. So, to put an end to this occurrence in Africa, where we already have a high rate of unemployment, I took the opportunity to do something about it. For this reason, our trainings are usually practical and hands-on for rapid skill development.
