Abimbola Komolafe is a Certified Financial Education Instructor, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
She is a finance professional with over 35 years of experience across banking, Oil and Gas, and consulting. She is the MD/CEO of Threshold of Trust Nigeria Ltd, a company providing clients with financial and business advisory services.
She is passionate about helping people achieve financial freedom and grow their wealth. This led to the creation of the ‘FinanceCoachBK’ platform, which she uses to educate and offer financial literacy support and services to help individuals grow their wealth and attain financial independence.
Bimbo is also the Executive Director/ Co-Founder of Rehoboth Dream Solid Foundation (RDSF), a foundation registered in 2009 to promote sustainable education, mentoring, and skills acquisition for the less privileged. She is married with three children.

FinanceCoachBK is a Financial Literacy platform founded to help people attain financial fitness, Financial Freedom and ultimately grow their wealth. Bimbo teaches financial education and collaborates with other experts to empower people with the money skills needed for financial wellness. In addition, she coaches and mentors people on finance, lifestyle, and family matters. Bimbo created the unique ‘E-S-I model to financial freedom’, which she uses to deliver her financial literacy programs.

Her Passion
We asked Abimbola Komolafe why she is so passionate about financial literacy, and she said:
Before June 2017, I was in paid employment. When I was transiting to self-employment, I realized I was not as financially literate and educated as I should have been. This means I didn’t maximize opportunities to grow my wealth as much as I should have.
I started the FinanceCoachBK Platform in 2017 after realizing there were many people in similar circumstances. These people were seemingly enlightened but very careless with financial education, which is essential to staying financially fit and growing wealth. The FCBK Financial Literacy Platform is on a campaign to get as many people as possible to ‘walk and work’ toward financial freedom.
There is also a predominance of financial dependence in Africa, which is almost an accepted culture. If we can educate people about the actions they must take to achieve financial freedom, we can reduce financial dependence.
Her Impact
The FCBK Financial Literacy campaign has brought awareness of the need to work towards financial fitness and freedom. In addition, the money skills they teach have positively impacted the lives of numerous groups of people and individuals.
Their annual Financial Literacy workshop for young adults started in 2021 as a 2-day event with three speakers, and 202 people registered to participate. The 2022 edition had a greater impact, as it was held over three days with seven speakers and 263 registered participants.
The workshop helps young adults cultivate good money habits early in life by equipping them with the skills to avoid money mistakes and start building savings early.
They have also delivered financial education programs to university undergraduates, religious organizations, corporate entities, and professional bodies.
