Why She Is Passionate About Real Estate In Canada
We asked Deborah why she is passionate about what she does, and here is what she said: I believe coming to Canada as an immigrant in my early years gave me a passion, and a drive to make a difference!

At the time, racist segregation affected everything so we will have to work 10x as hard to be able to earn the same income and respect as other people. But I was more passionate about the fact that black people were disproportionally affected by housing. Black people (29%) were in unsuitable housing, meaning that there were not enough bedrooms in the dwelling to meet the needs of their household.

This created a sense of service for me in my then 2-bedroom apartment, with a family of seven, my dream was born. I decided I was going to own a multi-apartment building where I would give minority communities opportunities to rent or own safe and affordable apartments in Canada.

Fast forward 10 years later, I went into real estate full-time with the purpose to support people to feel empowered in their finances.

I was brought up with strong ethics; when I was growing up, whenever there was a problem, my parents would say, do something positive to fix the issue, not only for yourself but for others as well.

It became a life principle, one that birthed DeboraHomes, we shift people’s perspectives to move forward and feel empowered to start building their Real Estate Portfolio.

How Her Work Is Changing Lives
Through DeboraHomes, she has helped many people buy their own homes and build their real estate portfolios.

She has also taught real estate-related topics for free to expose people, especially minority communities, to how to own their own piece of Real Estate. It is her way of giving back to her community.

DeboraHomes also engages in charity to help improve the quality of life of people and build their local community. They support local food banks, stem hubs etc
