Adesuwa Oham is an emerging Interior designer in Nigeria whose objective is to address the erroneous interior issues to achieve functionality in space while creating aesthetics with useful furnishings.
Adesuwa founded Derciti Interiors in 2020 and is the Managing Director and Creative lead.
She has over 12 years of work experience and has managed several residential and commercial design projects. Her passion for interior design makes her a valued professional in the industry. Adesuwa believes that a living space should be functional, safe and beautiful.
She has a first degree in Industrial Physics and a Master of Science degree in Physics Electronics.
She has other certifications in BSPM, MBA from MSBM (UK) and Interior Design.

Why She Is Passionate About Interior Design
We asked Adesuwa why she is passionate about what she does, here is what she said: When I was much younger, I was a collector of Interior and lifestyle magazines like “House and Garden”. My flare grew and it led me in 2009, to start importing and selling unique home accessories. This was so much fun for me as I enjoyed helping people decorate their spaces.
Even though I admire beautiful spaces, having a functional and safe space is the utmost priority before aesthetics. Some of my interests in interior design and furniture making came way back in the 90s because my dad ran a furniture business in Abuja until 2002. During some holidays, I worked at his furniture manufacturing factory or the showroom.
Fast forward to 2014, Adesuwa began working in an interior design firm where I managed several projects for six years. Creativity and designing come naturally to me, fueling my passion for interior design even more.
In 2020, it was time to fulfil my passion by bringing in my signature and style, and Derciti Interiors was birthed.
Our niche started by identifying typical interior issues or problems and proposing solutions, being intrigued by errors that cause discomfort to people in their spaces. This further aroused my curiosity and interest as a problem solver. I wanted to help people make the best of their spaces based on their intended use.
