
Have you heard about the PIPSICKLE TRIAL?
The acronym PIPSICKLE simply is “Prevention of Intrauterine Growth Restriction (i.e., baby not attaining its full growth potential) and Preeclampsia (a pregnancy-related disorder characterized by high blood pressure) in Sickle Cell Pregnancy ”
It is a Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial in which the efficacy of Low Dose Aspirin in preventing complications in pregnant women with Sickle Cell Disorder (HbSS and HbSC) shall be evaluated.
The research is funded by TETFUND and duly registered in a Clinical Trial Registry.
Recruitment is currently on at the 16 study sites, which all have Ethical Approval from the appropriate Health Research Ethics Committees.
Are you Haemoglobin SS or SC and between 12 to 28 weeks pregnant? If so, please consider registering for the PIPSICKLE Trial.
