Chidinma S. Onuoha is a trained lawyer who is passionate about promoting social justice and sound biblical principles that empower people to live purposefully.

She is the Program Director at DKT International Nigeria where she manages diverse social marketing programs that improve the health and wellbeing of women in Nigeria.

She is also the author of the life-transforming book, Abigail is not a Bitch, and numerous articles and posts written by her have been published on print and online media reaching millions of people. She blogs passionately about Christian living, social justice and family planning.

Award And Recognition

In 2019, she was a recipient of the ‘120 under 40’ award by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute and John Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA.

In 2020, she was also selected to participate in the prestigious Global Health Leadership Accelerator program organized by the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Gates Institute, USA.

Her Passion For Women’s Safety & Wellbeing

A few years ago while managing the blog and website of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Nigeria), I was constantly interacting with women who were experiencing domestic violence, oppression and abuse. Some of them were humiliated by different people because they were going through delayed childbearing or widowhood.

I listened to several harrowing accounts when these women contacted me to request linkages or access to FIDA Nigeria lawyers in different locations who are promoting justice for women. Many of these women lacked the capacity to fight for themselves including not having access to financial or health resources, support systems or accurate religious teachings or narratives.

After listening and reading about the unimaginable experiences of some women who believed that sex could save their marriages, I vowed that my Christian personality of promoting justice will shine through every day in my career and writing passion.

This strong desire propelled me to work in DKT International Nigeria where for the past 8 years I have been involved in programs that promote healthier lifestyles and contraceptive choices for women who want to avoid unplanned pregnancies.

This desire also motivated me to write the book, Sex is not the Strategy.

Her Book – Sex Is Not The Strategy

‘Sex Is Not The Strategy’ is a book focused on empowering Christian women to take the lead for their safety and wellbeing. Especially as the Covid-19 pandemic has worsened the living conditions of many women in abusive situations.

She wrote this e-book to encourage women to look out for their wellbeing and take a bold step to fulfil God’s purpose for their lives. The book shows women that they were not created to accept sabotaging relationships and situations that can derail them from the plan and purpose which God has made for them.
