I know a certain lady. She is a mother of 3, she is a wife, she has a Coaching practice, she MCs at events on most weekends, she is a host of a TV show, she plays a particular sport, plus other activities she is involved in.
I suspected that she must be applying a certain principle I know in order for her to effectively manage all these roles and I was right.
I got my confirmation when I reached out to her for something and on two different occasions she told me, ‘We must be done before 8 pm because that is my family time.’
There you have it!
That immediately told me something about how she manages her activities.
She has a structure!
Every mom needs a personal structure, especially if she intends to get things done and achieve her goals without being overwhelmed.
The nature of our role as Moms makes us liable to stress, burn out and overwhelm. This is because we wear so many hats and sometimes during the same period of time.
Therefore, you will be unable to get and stay organized, manage your time, energy & emotions, beat procrastination, stay motivated, find your direction, stay focused on it, and be intentional towards your life and responsibilities without an effective personal structure.
A personal structure helps you gain clarity on your priorities as a Mother and plans out your activities in an organised manner, as well as creates a system that improves your productivity.
They may not have defined it so, but every busy Mom who still gets things done happily and without being tired out always has a structure they strictly adhere to.
So Dear Mom, have you been perpetually overwhelmed or feeling so in recent times? Look into your structure.
Focus on that and get it sorted out and every other thing will fall into place including your breathing space.
